This is the first!!! Our first official blog. The difference is that this blog is for you, our athletes. Please add any comments and pix from races, training, fun events, etc. This has been a dream of mine for a couple of years now and I finally got it up and running. The rest is up to you. I would love to see this grow internationally. It can happen with your help.
Let's ROLL.

As the newest member to Team Aruba, I wanted to introduce myself. I've been racing for just over a year using a wheelchair racer. 10 years ago at age 29, I broke my back on a special operations mission in South America. We were finishing a successful counter narcotics mssion when things went wrong and I'm now paralyzed from the wasit down. Wheelchair racing has been my therapy. Oct 3rd of this year, I finished a 5K in 20:45, which placed me first in the wheelchair division, but I also finished 15th overall and 1st in my age group against the able body runnners. Marc and Susan had a booth set up at this race. After a few minutes chatting, I'm now proudly sponsored by Aruba. I can't wait to sport my new sunglasses at my next event.
ReplyDeleteI'm still new at wheelchair racing and I'm now conditioning to run my first marathon from a chair and hope to have my 5K time under 17 minutes by this year's end. I hope to hear from the rest of you soon.
Hi!
ReplyDeleteMany thanks to Marc and the other folks at ArubaSports for believing in me. Their products are unparalleled in form, fit, and function. My go to glasses are the Wave 2i. With the ease of lens change and all the great lens options I will have no trouble protecting my eyes and staying "relaxed" for all my runs and races up to the Olympic Marathon Trials for 2012!
Great to see you set up this blog....Being a professional bass fisherman, one of the MOST important tools I have when fishing clear water is my ability to see INTO the water...with my Aruba Strikr-P Polarized sunglasses, not only can I see better, but can wear them all day with total comfort!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Aruba Sport Eyewear!
Hello, the iHealthchic Race Team (www.ihealthchic.com) is thrilled to represent Aruba Sports in our racing endeavors. October was a busy month for us race-wise with the Make a Wish ride, USA Toyota Open, a couple smaller 5Ks and volunteer work with the Girls in Motion youth triathlon. A few of us will be cyling 100km Saturday while another couple will be running 8m in the Dallas Turkey Trot!

ReplyDeleteGreetings Aruba Athletes and Sunglass Wearers,
ReplyDeleteLike so many of us, Marc and Susan have sought out their dream and worked tirelessly to make it a reality. Their labors are so clearly reflected in the quality and craftsmanship of their sunglasses. I’m convinced Aruba Sport is well on its way to becoming the preeminent active eyewear developer, given their keen eye for technical design and commitment to their active clientele.
To me, Aruba means:
Active eyewear
Reasonably priced with
Uncompromised performance
Built to last for
Athletes
As a runner, I appreciate the resiliency and lightweight properties of the Wave. The frame is form-fitting and feels completely natural, while my lenses have yet to fog or scratch.
I am extremely grateful to be a part of Team Aruba. I will continue to train and compete in their product while giving it the highest recommendation to other athletes.
Jeffrey
Aruba Sport Eyewear delivers the goods. I've been part of Team Aruba for about one year and Marc has been great to work with.
ReplyDeleteAs an ultrarunner, comfort and performance are critical for me. I wore the Wave 2i for more than 34 hours at the Hardrock 100 mile trail run in July, switching from dark to clear lenses for the overnight hours. I truly didn't know I was wearing eyewear - that's how good the optical quality and comfort are.
Thanks Marc for your support.
Hi Marc! The new blog looks great! Cameron is in the midst of his hardest Ironman training ever right now for Ironman Malaysia on Feb 27. We still use our Aruba Sport sunglasses 100% of the time here on Guam. They stay pretty much glued to our faces all day long. Thanks for all of your support from the states!
ReplyDeleteWhere can I order a replacement pair of your sunglasses? Mine are pretty beat up.
